Display

It has 128Hz refresh rate display, So that Instagram and web can be used in a very smooth way.

Sharpness for S20+ sitting is at 525ppi.

Due to its big body, it brought us larger display. with 6.7-inch QHD+ we get a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, which is supported by HDR 10+ also sharp and vibrant. Above all we got  a 120Hz refresh rate for the first time. However the 120Hz refresh rate won’t work on full resolution.

It has ultrasonic power in the display fingerprint sensor which makes it easier to swipe apps. Thus, it is a tremendous mobile phone in the camera department.

S20+ display has dynamic amoled 2x captivity touch screen, 16M colors. S20+ released 6.70 inch 108.0 centimetre square big display with a resolution 1440 × 3200 pixels, 20:9 ratio.

Camera

In general the camera of s-series flag ship level phones are good but now Samsung has also entered the megapixel war.

Samsung S20+ camera
Samsung S20+ camera

However it comes with 3 rear camera and 1 front camera

  • Fabulous 64 MP Camera:

Above all it’s the biggest camera among all the camera’s used, it is used as a telephoto camera. But it has no optical stabilization.

Telephoto camera offers 2x optical zoom, and it also uses a mix of AI-assisted hybrid zoom along digital zoom.

When you will select telephoto icon in the view finder, you can use it directly jump to certain zoom levels with dedicated buttons.

Beyond 10x zoom level, textures look little smooth or grainy with no noise. Also at 30x zoom level you will find better quality photos

  • 12 MP Primary sensor camera:

12-megapixel resolution comes along Dual Pixel auto-focus, an f/1.8 aperture with OIS, but the pixel size is now 1.8 microns pixels.

  • 12 MP ultra wide angle camera:

Ultra wide angle camera also uses 12 MP camera, but here they have used 1.4 microns pixels and narrower f/2.2 aperture, but no auto-focus

  • Selfie camera:

Here we got 10 MP sensor camera with Dual Pixel AF and an f/2.2 aperture.

It is not so good as you get a beautification filter into it which works as a default, and make the skin look very smooth and unnatural.

Photo

While you are shooting under good light with main/primary camera, you will really get amazing photos.

Also you won’t be able to notice any noise in the photos even no noise in shadow areas. The color are very pleasant.

Even more you will get great photos when you will be shooting directly under sunlight due to its HDR handeling.

While taking about the wide angle camera, here you will be facing some barrel distortion in the photos which will make you feel like there is lot more to cover in the photos.

However the close-up shots are real good, excellent detail, great sharpness and good natural bokeh effect.

During night mode at 10x zoom it offers better shoots than the standard shoots.

Furthermore the night mode works well with all 3 sensors (camera) which reduces grains and improve exposure.

Live focus is also good, however you can do the background depth effect after or before the shot.

There is also a single take feature, so far it looks very interesting to us as it can capture a 10 sec video along side some snaps and it automatically apply filters to some of them, which really make it a good option for events and functions.

Video

The main attraction of this phone includes 8k video recording in which super-fast video and slow motion video can be made.

From the point of video, it records in 8K resolution, Where it get really compulsay to have and 8K display screen or a high resolution TV, for the complete advantages of 8K video recording.

Because of the 24fps frame rate of this phone it will be better to record at 4K.

However the video quality is very good but in low night you will find some wobble effect in video, while in sunlight it gives you very good images with great details and good stabilization.

Another good news about video recording is that you can switch between all the camera’s including the selfie camera during a 4K 30fps video. However the video quality is not good while shooting with a wide angle camera or primary/telephoto camera, under low light.

There is also a Super Steady Mode which you can use in telephoto mode or with wide angle mode of camera, which is accepted you give us a gimbal level smoothness, but the mode is restricted to 1080p only.

Filter & editing is also provided manually in its camera. Its filters will also include snaps which will automatically create cool music in the background. In this users will 3Gp (ASF, M4V, H.263, H.264, MKV, 3G2, DivX, AVI, WMF, FLV, MPEG4) Video player.

PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY

Here Samsung S20+ have used Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset in the US or Exynos 990 (including India) in other countries.

  • 12GB of RAM for the Galaxy S20 Plus 5G
  • 8GB of Ram for 4G

According to experts the performance of Samsung Galaxy S plus is so good that you go to ultra heavy multitasking of the phone and it won’t break a stress.

Even more when you will use 1440p or 120Hz refresh rate for a long duration, it won’t take any stress and there will be no sign of thermal heating.

However the narrow size of its keypad may annoy you.

Although, Samsung has branded S20 + as a 5G phone, but in India it have been released only in 4G variant.

Furthermore taking about the audio quality, stereo speakers has performed very good. Also earpiece and the bottom-firing speaker sounded very balanced.

You will also find Dolby Atmos enabled, which makes it performance even better.

However base is little at weaker side. The AKG also provides good audio, also you will find very good noise cancellation to outside.

Samsung S20+
Samsung S20+

Even more if this mobile phone falls in 1.5 meter of water for 30 minutes, it will not deteriorate.  Because it has got the certificate of IP68. It is one of the best feature of this mobile phone.

Software

You will also find LPDDR5 memory here, which promises for higher data rates and lower power consumption.

Furthermore it holds 7nm octa-core SoC with 2 custom Samsung Cores for any heavy duty task and for lighter workloads, they are:

  • two Cortex-A76 cores and
  • four Cortex-A55 cores

Taking about its graphics we got Mali-G77 GPU to handle it, which hard claimed to work 20% more efficiently than older variant.

Samsung S20+ runs over One UI 2.1, based on Android 10. You will also find Samsung Dex and Link to Windows like features over here.

You will also find App like AR zone for Augmented reality (AR) feature and doodles in Samsung S20 plus.

Its an great performer, even when it comes to heavy games like PUBG or Asphalt 9: Legends.

We also got great colors with good saturation, with awesome brightness. However ambient light sensor may cause some trouble sometimes.

Talking about video quality in HDR, you are really going to enjoy it.

The ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor is very good, it works very fast and we haven’t seen it failing.

However the face recognition is not got, even it got issues during low light. In our advise it will be better if you stick to finger print sensor at place of face recognition.

5G

Above all it id going to connect to both mmWave and sub-6 frequencies.

Battery

Above all for Samsung S20 plus as far as the battery is concerned, till now such feature of battery was not provided in the S- series phones.

It has proprietary battery life.

S20+ has the facility of 25W wireless charging, power bank & 9w reverse wireless charging.
