OPPO F15 with sleek design: Expert Review

OPPO F15 with sleek design, and it comes with some upgrades as an in-display fingerprint sensor, quad rear cameras, a slim profile, and a new gradient finish for the back, being successor of OPPO F11

Its a good looking phone, and it stands on its words but looking at its specification can give you a little stress, because of the Realme X2 and Redmi K20 performance in same price.

Than why you will bother to but this phone? Its good for those who use to work for long hours on mobile such as social media influences, researchers, bloggers or stake market analyst or gamers or just hobbyist.

Above all the new OPPO F15 looks very cool with its design.

OPPO F15 has arrived with some upgrades over OPPO F11.

The camera has some nice upgrades, but still its image quality and video performance are not go great.

However, it got some advantages over its competitors such as slim body, low weight, and good display, good battery life with fast charging.

It also comes with AMOLED display that looks majestic for a phone of its class.

Even more, we will suggest to wait for few months if you want to buy it, for price drop.

If you are familiar with Redmi K30 than, OPPO F15 will look similar to you.

This phone comes in a silicone case with a SIM eject tool, Type-C cable, power adapter.

Taking about the build design, it comes with a 3D curved glass body and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides. There is also a strong frame made up of aluminum.

The phone comes in 2 colors: Unicorn White and Lightening Black with a glossy gradient finish.

Even more, this phone is so slim and light it is. At 7.9mm in thickness and weighing 172g, it’s quite comfortable to carry around.

It not a huge phone than too its large enough due to its 20:9 aspect ratio of the 6.4-inch display.

We also got a  AMOLED panel with a full-HD+ (2400×1080) resolution and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5.

OPPO F15 has little slippery design, also power and volume buttons are placed on different sides. This phone also has a triple card slot for two Nano-SIM cards and one for a microSD card to extend memory.

We also get a vertically aligned quad-camera setup, including an elongated LED flash light.

Overall this phone is very good looking and it could be hard to handle it with just one hand.

Above all, the amazing thing about Oppo F15 is , it features a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. Isn’t that so big? Comparing to competitors, along that is also has a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and 411 ppi pixel density.

Coming with AMOLED display, the blacks look deeper and colors are captured well with high contrast and details.

It also features DC Dimming 2.0 that protect your eyesight while watching videos in low light conditions, but our experts does not feel it that good, it still cause some stress on eyes.

Over here, Viewing angles are wide and the brightness is good too that it would be so easy to operate the phone in direct sunlight. OPPO F15 also has a ColorOS 6 which makes the best out of this panel with saturated color tones in the UI.

There is also an in-display finger print sensor.

There is much that we really needed as an Upgrade to OPPO F11 and we finally got that all in OPPO F15.

It comes with some shooting features such as Timelapse, Panorama, Slow-motion, AR stickers, and Expert.

  • 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture
  • 8-megapixel wide-angle camera that also doubles for macro camera
  • 2-megapixel depth sensor
  • finally, 2-megapixel monochrome sensor

  • 16-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Above all amazing features as super-steady video recording and the Night mode ability for the selfie camera are absent.

Even more on cloudy days you can Switch on the Dazzle mode and you will see saturated colors and slightly higher contrasts in image.

Portrait mode works really well, Edge detection and image quality is decent under good light.

Taking about 48-megapixel primary sensor:

This camera shoots at 12-megapixel stills by default but there’s no option to shoot at the full 48-megapixel resolution.

In day light this camera captures fairly detailed landscape shots, also we get vivid colors and good details, and whats the good parts is where some of the better phones get a defeat is that, there is no noise in darker areas.

Here we got a decent HDR effect, which is not so good but okay.

It has autofocus, so still photo with this sensor have good detail

8-megapixel wide-angle camera:

Above all it also has auto-focus, so the stills with this sensor have good detail.

Taking close-ups with this camera has sharp and detailed images. Even more if you get really close to your subject with the wide-angle camera, you will get good macros.

However in low light, there were weak details and some noise in darker areas.

With night mode we get comparatively darker images with poorer details and colors to primary camera.

16-megapixel selfie camera:

Skin textures does ot get much smooth but HDR works well over here and colors are well represented. Portrait mode does not work well with the front camera.

Above all with OPPO we can shoot at up to 1080p resolution and not 4K.

However Video quality is good and there is stabilization too when we are shooting with the primary camera.

Wide angle camera wont be able to give proper stabilization.

In low light the video quality is very poor, and we can shoot video in 1080p using the selfie camera too, but also there is no stabilization. You will also get 2x and 5x digital zoom. It comes with ‘Dazzle Color’ toggle which boosts the saturation level of photos.

POCO X2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, which is based on the 8nm fabrication process.

Above all it can not be considered as a great competitor to other in same price range. Oppo is boldly flaunting the combination of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage on the F15, but its just somewhere near to satisfy its cost of Rs 19990*.

However between all this Oppo is hiding the fact that it is using the MediaTek Helio P70 chipset.

Helio P70 is an old midrange chip from last year while it offers great performance in regards to CPU, but somewhere it lacks in graphic department.

However if we compare it with Exynos chips, which comes along Samsung phones, it still goes in good books. At more Oppo also does great in optimizing its Color-OS interface.

Even more OPPO F15 feels fast and smooth because of its great CPU performance, similarly its very pleasant with generic apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Chrome browser, music streaming, low performance apps.

With some occasional lags the mobile is going to perform very decent during games plays, such as PUBG or CALL OF DUTY.

Oppo should have launched this with ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie  at place of Android 10 which was already launched before OPPO F15 launch. Even more there is newer ColorOS 7 interface, which is easy to use but than too ColorOS 6 has been used.

However it is well optimized and comes with good speed.

Full-HD videos look sharp enough, with pretty punchy colors, and the viewing angles are quite wide the speakers are loud but there is also some issue with bass.

The Oppo F15 can ran for 14 hours and 48 minutes while in heavy us as simultaneously playing Full HD videos in loop and playing heavy games as PUBG and taking selfies and recording.

Charging capacity is really good, it can get fully charged in few minutes over an hour.

It have an capacity of 4000mAh which is considerably long enough to last for more than a day. With an 20W VOOC 3.0 fast-charging system.

  • Stylish design
  • Lightweight and comfortable
  • Great AMOLED display
  • Good battery life
  • Vivid display

  • Old MediaTek chipset
  • Expensive
  • Average camera quality

It have been already launched in India and its available on both FLIPKART and AMAZON.

However its price is little high in respect to what this phone is offering, that is Rs19,990*
